I have found two coach tickets for a trip this fall to Europe for 60k each. It's a simple booking. I was wanting to book them to hold them in hopes that another, um, scheme I am working on would pan out better. From my understanding I would be charged $150 to redeposit miles up to 72 hours before the flight time. Does anyone know if that is per ticket? Also, anyone have experience with canceling award bookings with DL? Does this sound reasonable as a way to hold tickets?

Thanks in advance for your input!

That is per ticket IF you want the miles redeposited into your account. You could just forfeit the miles and save the $150 per ticket. Otherwise to save 60,000 miles you are paying 2.5 cents per saved mile.

Delta will sometimes wave the fee on proof of illness or family tragedy.

Noted that you are Silver. Platinum and Diamonds get free redeposit rights.

Isn't that 0.25 cents per saved mile?
    60,000 / 150.00 = 0.0025

Oops. Doing math in my head is dangerous. The echos make every thing seem bigger. Those little decimal devils ....

You are right. .25 cents per mile or $0.0025. That makes redeposited a no brainer.

That right there tells us that you won the jackpot.

Are you insane, wishing to redeposit?
