Anyone know if you can use both sources of points to pay for a ticket (combine them) or can you transfer SkyBonus points to a SkyMiles account?

IIRC you can't transfer them. SkyBonus is supposed to be for small businesses and SkyMiles for individuals.

They are completely different currencies (if you can call them that).

However, who knows about currencies in transportation? I once paid for a taxi ride in Montevideo in three different national currencies. Maybe that Uruguayan taxi driver now has a job in DL's loyalty program oversight. A man of his intelligence would rise to the top very quickly working in that department.

The OP should take the SkyBonus University course and earn some SkyBonus points while also learning that the two programs don't mix.

  5. If you have a EIN, you should open a SkyBonus account! The only drawback is, unlike SkyMiles, SkyBonus points expire after 3 years. :(

If you have an EIN and travelling before 7/31/11, you should open an account online using the promo code: MAYSKYMAG - 40,000 points are earned when you do all the above - gets you off to a great start
