First, I don't know if this is the right place to put this, so I'm sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I think something that would be really cool for MP to offer is a group code for hotels and car rental companies. Many people probably have private codes that they use, but some don't. Even if this was something that was only offered to silver members, or gold members or whatever, I think there is potential.

    Any thoughts?

sounds like a good idea for those who don't have a lot of business trips.

Highly unlikely, because big chains can not permit usage of Corp discount when you are not employee of the company

But AAA, ABA, Chambers of Commerce, and similar organizations have discount codes issued to them.

It's as much of an organization as bookcrossing.com, which has an Enterprise Rent-a-Car contract. You signed up when you got your username, and we have common interests. How would you define "organization?"

So we can form a MP User Group as an organisation and appoint Randy as the chairman to negotiate the rates for the organisation.

Many software companies have formal User Groups that provide input for the software manufacturer as to what they would like to see in the way of new products or enhancements to the current product. They often have an annual meeting where they will gather to discuss the product or current industry issues (and have a party or two). I think such a group for MP would be a great idea.

Sounds like an awesome idea. We could nominate some users to negotiate with the hotel companies. I don't see why we can't qualify for group rates...

    Hmmm....

Since I'm sure Randy and the inner circle are monitoring this....

Guys, you remember that question at the brainstorming sessions about what you might offer with premium membership (either bought or earned by being a contributing member)? I think you just found an interesting suggestion.

I'm 100% in. If there is any way I can help, I'm more than happy to. I used to work for a couple of hotel companies and have first hand experience that they will set up a group discount for almost anyone if they can get something (business, advice, etc) out of it. Being listed as a "preferred partner" for a DO would be motivation enough for most companies.

It's a great idea and as our friend from Texasposted above, it will be considered for when we will start offering the Premium memberships in the near future

Excellent brainstorming! I am a government employee so nothing but AAA for me on personal travel, would not mind an LDW inclusive rate.
