can I get a critique of the wine selection at JFK Duty Free

    is it a wide selection?

    decent prices?

    I will be there Christmas day and I assume some places will be open?

    do you think any wine shops in NYC will be open December 25th?

    I would like to get some California wines, will consider Oregon ones as well.

    You (and others) interested in obtaining information to purchase vintage wines may find the attached 2014 vintage chart useful. It's publicly available on the internet. Although not foolproof, I've used such charts for years with a better-than-average amount of success. Good luck!

    Which terminal ? As you know, that Terminal 1 (3 is offline) Terminal 4, Terminal 5, Terminal 7&8 etc. all have duty free shops. Depends on which airline you are flying.

    flying Emirates but I have time to go to another terminal :eek:

    If the duty free stores are airside, you will not have access to those in other terminals with a few exceptions, such as the JFK jitney between T2 airside and T4 airside for DL passengers. Also, if the duty free wine is delivered to your flight, then you probably need to purchase from a store in the same terminal, so if you arrive into a different terminal it probably won't help.

    good point, that fact eluded me :eek:

    outside the USA, many airports have the terminals connected, all of them technically airside

    so I need to re-phrase my question "does Terminal 4 duty free have any decent wine at a fair price?" ;)
