    In the very least, include them in the base price of the ticket. Oh wait, if you did that you couldn't very well collect it on award tickets could you.

  4. Yes but over the next few years AC looks ready to take back the FF program starting with renaming the tier system to Altitude. At least I suspect that is the plan.

    Of course not. But it doesn't make sense that taxes and fees are twice what they are in the US. My taxes pay enough already.

    It'll be either the flight taxes or the income taxes -- we'll pay for those in either case.

    I don't know how US airports are funded and whether it's different from the Canadian situation, though.

    Sure you could. When was the last time you paid YQ on a domestic fare? AE manages to collect that though...

    US airports are subsidized by various levels of government.
