I realize that we cannot judge the airworthiness of an aircraft by the upkeep of the passenger cabin. But when things look poorly maintained, it makes you wonder.

This past week I flew Air India on an ATR 42-320.

The following photos are of the cabin

Wow, that is just GROSS... I definitely see how one could lose confidence in the mechanical aspects of the aircraft if the cabin is in such a condition!

When was this article written? I thought they were voted out (thank you *A for not letting them in and taking our beloved LH seats) but this article implies that they were accepted.

You are spot on ... I juxtaposed their wishful article with Flying With Fish's blog post about their rejection.;)

I guess I won't be complaining about some of the US cabins I have been in, Air India seems to have this filth thing down.

Is that an erstwhile Alliance Air aircraft? They have been pathetic eversince they operated. Created to serve non-profitable regional routes by the government and then handed over to AI to bear the burden.

I have even seen the new A321 on Air India where the cabin is not cleaned regularly. You can clearly notice the areas near the windows or the lights being dirty.
