Just booked (or put on hold) MSY-AMS in domestic F, Intl C, for just under $1500 ai. for August.

Easiest way to book is to use Google Flights, find your optimum routing/dates, then let it direct you to ua.com. Can book right away (and probably cancel free w/in 24 hours) or purchase a fare lock.

This works from quite a few US cities (SAN, COS and ???) to several European cities.

Extensive discussion on TOBB and even a way to knock a few hundred off w/ a fuel dump...

It seems to be some sort of fare war, UA v. Delta - likely to last only a few hours.

Mods, feel free to move if there's a better place to put it - it's a Business class trip for roughly Economy class travel, perhaps not a MR, but worth a close look.

    Happy travels

Ticketed BOS-AMS RT in July plus one of the suggested fuel dump segments. $1213 all-in, with a mix of Lufthansa, Austrian, and Air Canada (and a fourth airline for the fuel dump - removed details since the deal is dead). Simple round trip on UA would have been $1468.

Found other routings (and a slightly different fuel dump pair) at $1168. all-in. In business the whole way.

For those who don't want to try the fuel dump: some of the UA routings are via IAH, which give you 6610 miles each way. Add class of service bonuses, and you're looking at 19830 RDM and PQM. That's 7.4 cents/RDM; not great for a mileage run fare, but it's in business class. Premier golds will get 26440 RDM on this routing, for 5.6 CPM. 1k's will get 33050, for 4.4 CPM.

Thank you very much for posting this!

So I was able to figure that dump out REALLY simply. Others may get angry with you about it. $1140 is stupid cheap to europe in J

True enough, but specific airport codes were posted on TOBB, so I'm not too worried. :)

Have you been successful with the fuel dump tickets?

Could you try one for me(helping friend) :
    SEA-AMS-SEA
    or
    SEA-FRA-SEA

    Depart(SEA-AMS or SEA-FRA): Aug 5 or 6
    Return: Aug 26 or 27
    Flexible on dates

Not quite so exciting, but there's now Z availability on AC from eastern
Canada - Europe for CAD2200 or so. LH and UA in P for a few hundred more.

Very limited mileage-run-appropriate dates, but easy to find if you can afford
to cool your jets for a couple days.

I was able to dump on Matrix BOS-> AMS using the dump implied above on friday am, but I couldn't make it work friday evening, but that was I think because the deal was beat.

I typed last night. I meant "the deal was beat" as "no longer functional"

BOS-AMS (stopping in FRA on the way there VIE/YYZ on the way back) was $1139 with the dump. $1499 without.

But I think that fare is gone.
