Looking for a definitive answer on which side of row 1 has a bassinet on 767-400, please.
United's website says row 1 without distinguishing. I called reservations, and they said AB side only, without confidence, and without explanation of how that's supposed to work given that 1B is blocked for airport assignment. Seatguru has boilerplate language that relates to non-flat bed cabin configurations, so not helpful. UA website says PMCO 777 has bassinet in flat-bed 8AB only, but somehow my son traveled (too briefly) in the bassinet at 8KL last year, so even specific information from the website is suspect.

Usually bassinets are on bulkheads. Any airport agent can look this up for you.

As alluded to in my first post, not clear that United is providing good information to its people on this topic. I was hoping that a member of this community of travelers might know for sure which side of the 764 lie-flat cabin at the bulkhead has the bassinet.

FYI: there is a weight restriction for bassinets (22 lbs max)

More info from our flight attendants: the top of the unit opens, the door is stowed and the bassinet is inside. One FA called it a little mini coffin as it's very small.

Oh, that's what's in those things. I've wondered what was there below the doors on those seats.

Thank you for the confirmation sfogate - you rock. Have locked in 1KL on your advice.

The bassinets are indeed shaped like a coffin and not generously sized, but if we can stuff our littlest guy in one for a while it will help our trip immensely.

Oh, don't worry about the infant - anything going on with him is between him and us. His older brother the toddler/monkey - now he's the one to worry about!

Having now taken the flight (ship 3066), there are *no* bassinets in row 1 on a 767-400, so I'm scratching my head about the FAs who said there were bassinets all the way across. Four sets of wall hardware for a bassinet in row 16 at the front of coach, but none of the little coffins for BF pax, so our 7-month old got to sleep on mommy and daddy for his naps.

Did you call United and request a bassinet? http://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/travel/specialneeds/infants/default.aspx

In the bulkheads in business the bassinet latches into the shelf above the foot wells.

On the new BF seats they're now integrated into the row 1 seat above the monitors. They are very small. There's a latch that lifts up to open up the bassinet.

They are also on the new ps birds in row 1 and whatever the row is behind 2L (5AB?).

Thanks for clarifying. I couldn't remember if it opened up or if they brought it out of a closet and connected it.
