Burger King releases black burger with bamboo charcoal cheese and squid ink sauce in Japan
I used to work at BK.. can't quite imagine selling that, but have to give credit where credit is do for the marketing group trying something.. Unique...
Looks good to me.
But would you buy one?
Probably not, simply because the prices range from $4.50 to $7.50 USD. Add a drink and you're up to $10.00. I know Tokyo is expensive, but I'd rather try to find an inexpensive unique local place, maybe a noodle shop, in which to spend my Yen.
I'm very wary of BK, McD, etc. when traveling outside the US. (and even domestically, BK quality has gone down the past 4 years, and McD prices have shot up).
If you are in Singapore, the fast foods are well regulated and safe. I know what you meant about better use of money for a more Japanese meal. I would have choose a noodle store or a sushi place as well.
I haven't tried this burger yet, but I do like their "Angry Burger"
Dang. Just left Tokyo. I never ever eat at BK or any other fast food joint, but this would be cool to atleast take a picture of
Saizeria Restaurant in Japan also offers a black squid ink meal now.
I'd eat both - without mayonnaise - but with a Pepsi Cucumber to boot.
If the prices were better, would you try this? Honestly, I know I wouldn't. It looks like they've just completely burned the burger.
It actually looks good to me and I'd be willing to try it... except that I much prefer to go to small locally owned places, not franchise operations. However, to conserve time while traveling I'd be tempted to pop in there and give it a go.
McDonalds in Japan has now joined the "dark side" with it's Halloween inspired Squid Ink Burger.
Somehow the McDonald one looks more appetizing...
Broke down and tried the Ikasumi (squid ink) burger at McDonald's. The meal price is 730 yen.
It was kind of good. But looks a bit dried out.
Now at Narita Airport.
Was contemplating on buying this when passing the McDonald.
In the end, decided to head for a SkyClub instead...
How was it?
It was good. Not the best burger ever but wasn't expecting much from Mcdonald's
