Yes.... Novak took a lot of risk by playing today... he showed a lot of cojones wanting to play to represent his country. For the good of the ATP tour, I hope he comes back quickly.

I cant wait to see where Spain will host the finals.... and what surface they will select, although Im guessing they will pick a slow clay surface....

That is a bet I would never bet against! :D

Glad to see my home country Canada make it into the World Group next year. They beat Israel 3-2 in the final qualifying round on Israeli soil. It may not have been all home advantage as they played in Canada stadium! Pospisil won all three of his matches, saving the Canadian team's hopes after a first-day loss by Roanic (the top seeded player amongst all the men's singles in this group) who succumbed to food poisoning and lost to Weintraub in 4 sets.

Looks like Spain has selected to play in Sevilla... it appears that they wanted to have an indoor stadium as close as possible to sea level to make double extra sure the ball is as heavy and slow as possible.

The good news is that JM del Porto has elected to skip the Asian Hardcourt leg of the tour and will only play a few tournaments in Europe before the Davis Cup finals.... so no jet lag or lots of tennis before this to make sure we have a decent chance at winning this for the first time.

Speaking of the Asian Tournaments... Nalbandian started off his Shanghai Masters 1000 series tournament with a good win against always tough E. Gulbis.... lets hope David can have a few good matches and can also make it to Sevilla with the right amount of Tennis to make sure he can do his part in this final....
