According to Unite the Union, British Airways is planning to force pregnant cabin crew to take unpaid leave if they live too far away from the carrier’s bases, where they would be performing ground duties instead of their normal job. The airline is, of course, denying the claims.
Under aviation regulations, cabin crew are immediately grounded when they find out they are pregnant. Instead of their usual duties, they are assigned to airport duties on the ground in order to reduce the risk of complications or miscarriages.
