    Long-time lurker, third-time poster… yadda yadda

So, I need 9,062 miles to remake PLAT by year end.

I'm flying out of Little Rock…

Was thinking on making a couple of flights to LAX through ORD, but would love to combine into one mileage run (which I've never done before).

Anyone have any tips on which routes I should look at to maximize miles in a 1-2 trip through either ORD or DFW (my two closest hubs)?

    Thanks!

Even if you do two LIT-ORD-LAX and back you'll still come up short. (bad math )

How much are you willing to spend? How many days are you willing to consume with the travel? Willing to go international?

Hmm… I might be miscalculating… Does the 500-mile per segment minimum not count towards EQM?

Here's what I got from the Webflyer calculator (with 500 mi segment minimum), but I'm an admitted novice at this.

Sure, I'd be open to international (can you do this without having to go through customs? just hang out in the terminal?)

Would love to do it in a Fri / Sat roundtrip if could do in one.

I also have an event at SNA (or LAX) next weekend… Would be happy to wrap a mileage run through that… Was going to use that as one of my LIT-ORD-LAX trips.

    Thanks!!!

I didn't think of this, but I'll be 16 segments short of PLAT as I stand right now.

Not sure if it would be more cost efficient to knock it out by getting segments.

Won't AA sell you the status if you're within 10,000 miles?

LIT-ORD is 552 so no minimums involved. And I did the math badly. Sorry about that. You'll just clear the needed amount if you route via ORD; DFW won't work.

Yes you can buy the status if you are within 10000 miles )I think about$1700). Also any flight that is less than 500miles will get 500 EQMS

If needed think about LIT-ORD-SAN-LAX. The San -lax will net 500 miles

Look at flights to Quad Cities (MLI). On December 14th I found a LIT-DFW-SFO-ORD-MLI with a return of MLI-ORD-LIT for $490 (5,100 miles). That's still pricey ($.10 CPM), but it seems pretty cheap between now and Christmas. You could probably use the multi-city tool to get a more convoluted return flight (try MLI-ORD-DCA-DFW-LIT).

Matrix.itasoftware.com also showed cheap flights to MLI leaving tomorrow, if that gives you enough time.

It all just depends on your budget for time and money. If it was me I'd fly it and expect to pay around 10 CPM but that would be fine in my book. You're already Platinum so if you spend $1,000 and fly 10k miles you'll get 20k RDM's which makes for some usable award miles.
