It is official - Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport will get privatized security.

Airport Director Brian Sprenger confirms with our news team that last week, the Transportation Security Administration approved the airports request for private security, which was submitted back in June.

Sprenger says the next step is for the TSA to accept proposals from private companies, narrowing down who will handle security at the airport. In June the airport board unanimously decided to apply for privatized security, after several complaints from passengers traveling through the airport.

Currently there are 16 airports with private security, seven of which are in Montana.
