Good heavens, "Offer valid on purchases of $50 or more"? Who buys $50 of bowling?

Last time I bowled as part of a group of 4 on a Friday night the bill was definitely more than $50.

    Who doesn't?

Maybe I'm skewed by NYC prices but it is expensive here. Easily more than $50 for a couple hours at the lanes. And if they include the bar tab then it is incredibly easy.

You are undoubtedly very skewed by NYC prices, I can't think of a more expensive place in the country to go bowling. Never bowl in manhattan.

Only way I can reach $50 at a bowling alley is when food and pitchers of beer are included...

Of course!! How can one bowl without food and pitchers of beer? Especially pitchers of beer.

Wow, I am surprised that bowling is such an expensive activity in NYC, but maybe adding in enough brews makes the cost add up quickly.

Even getting food and pitchers of beer makes $50 tough. The last time I went bowling with my friends it was $7.50 unlimited bowling with shoes and $2.50 pitchers of Coors...

$7.50 each person? Five friends plus you, and a couple of those $2.50 pitchers, and you're at $50. That's not that tough to do.

I'll just add, the last time I went bowling in DC, with two other people, some snacks, and a few beers, and it was close to $60.

I'm glad I do not bowl. Seems too expensive for what it is.

Even the expensive hipster place I go to is still not bad. $10-25 an hour per lane, not per person ($25 only on Friday and Saturday nights), and they'll charge for partial hours rather than rounding up. It's just something social to do with a group.

I wish. Although I heard they did have the Dude there a few months ago. Any place the Dude will go to can't be that bad.
