    Love this part:

    KISS-IN PLANNED
Same-sex couples around the country plan a kiss-in at Chick-fil-A restaurants on August 3.

Cannot wait to read about it and the reactions the " event " evokes. I hope as many people as possible support this event and they send a clear message that anti LGBT behaviors are not welcome anywhere.

Rahm Emanuel (big surprise, here) stated something similar. I think there was a suburb outside of San Fran where an official also told them they couldn't build there, as well.

I think some of these cats need a refresher as to what free enterprise is and why it exists.

Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee are hardly what I would call "mainstream"...although...honestly, these days...I guess extremes are the new mainstream.

Well, if they may not have won the nomination, but they seemed overall reasonably popular with their base. Getting the nomination has probably just as much if not more to do with getting money than with popularity. But yes, they are fairly far right out there, but that's not really what I was using as a criteria for mainstream.

First, just because this thread involves a dining company does not make it appropriate for the Dining forum. This is obviously a political thread.

Second, There is no mainstream. Most polls show basically a 50/50 split between those who do and do not support gay marriage.

I fully agree with gobluetwo but since it is here.....

I wonder in a different millennia and age....
How would the basis of this Mayor's "opinion" be vastly different than the basis by which the Nuremberg laws were developed?
It is very easy to slip down the slope when one feels righteous and empowered.

I think we can all admit, it's a questionable biz tactic forthe leader of a large business and go on the record alienating potential customers. It's asinine to see politicians trying to throw their weight around and responding with equally ridiculous anti-free enterprise babble. All in all, Appreciation Day and Kiss-In Day are both examples of American consumers voting with their wallet (which is how it should be done.)

That said, I can't wait to see the lawsuit when an "Openly Homosexual Chick-Fil-A" store manager is terminated due to his/her sexual orientation. Then I'll grab some popcorn and watch the legalese fly.

It's a private company. Not as much leverage as you may think if this were to happen
