So am going from 1k to gold next year. I have 1.5 million miles to use so guess I had better start. I see flights for next April/May that I like to Europe. I am going to book economy. Seats I want in E+ of course are there, so is it foolish to book now or any reason why I should wait? I do know that there could be schedule changes, but I can live with that. YVR FRA MXP with LH and MUC ORD YVR on UA.

If you see the inventory you want grab it. Do not assume it will still exist in the future.

You have until 31 Jan 17 to make changes for free anyways thanks to status.

Thanks, I don't think I would change it, in all the years I have been flying with UA I have never changed an itinerary. I do realize that after 31 Jan that freebie will no longer be available to me. The only reason I would not go is that I would be dead :D

Wow...I used to change mine all the time. I mean ALL THE TIME. Odds of my flying the as-initially-booked itinerary were probably <10%.

Definitely miss the ability to change award flights without fee now that I am merely Gold. Would say that I used it 90% of the time, but often enough that I miss it.

"Merely Gold" it's certainly better than being a merely general member :)

Agree that this is one of the most useful benefits for me with UA Plat. I've changed our family summer trip to Europe 3 times so far. It'll be a major bummer to lose that benefit if I don't make it to 75K this year.
