Today I got a targeted promotion as follows:
I guess United thinks I'm slacking in the spend. Anyone else received
    such an offer?

I got no email, but the link posted on FT worked and my offer is actually quite nice:

Milestone 1: spend $500 and earn 10,000 bonus award miles

Milestone 2: spend $1,000 total and earn 15,000 more award miles

Milestone 3: spend $2,500 total and earn 25,000 more award miles

$500 is roughly my spend with United since Jan 1, 2015.

Actually, I believe that this is a great promo that gets back some of the redeemable miles lost by the switch over to the revenue system because the money spent still counts as PQD, so one is spending what one would have spent anyway, but getting RDMs that one would not have gotten.

My offers appears to be a bit more lucrative than the two above:

Lucrative? Maybe for someone who travels on OPM. You have to spend $8000 to get anything from the promo. That wouldn't do me any good.

Well, UA knows that it has me in its back pocket, so as a relatively
loyal but low-yield flyer it's no surprise that my offer is a modest
one. I was a tad surprised by how modest, though.

Seems to be a more sensibly targeted promo, from their standpoint,
not so good from mine. It looks to UA that I am likely but not certain
to spend that 6.5K, but now it's almost a certainty unless AA comes
    up with something considerably better.

It was sensibly targeted considering my travel pattern with United in the last couple of years (especially when comparing to similar style challenges from the likes of IHG which are always wildly unrealistic for me). And since AS didn't target me for their rollover EQM promo, this might tip the scale on some travel decisions for the rest of the year.

My wife has the same travel pattern and wasn't targeted at all, though.

That's a valid point. I will need to make 1K, in addition to making the push to make 1MM since I am just 50K BIS miles short. So they know that I will be flying this year, which is fine and smart too because it means that the promo is tailored in a way that makes the most of individual circumstances. I will spend at least $9K by the deadline...

It seems that a (lucky) few have received rather hefty milestones. But seeing as I have blown through my bank of miles and I still need to flug this year it's possible for me to make the middle level:oops: and take an extra 31K for my European Vacation next year.

On the bright side I have 4 transcons in July August that rescheduled from March.

Could this be Oscar's influence? Targeted promos that are actually worthwhile and reachable.

There is no doubt about it. Oscar has been working hard to try to undo the damage that $Smi$ek did by copying DL blow for blow. These extra miles are designed to offset the RDMs that all but high spenders lost when the program switched over to the revenue system. At least, that'll be the case for me.

I wasn't overly concerned about the system changes as most of my flugs are last minute / higher priced. So my losses were on the few personal flugs I make. I have three transcontinental flugs that were originally March / April that are now July / August and that if I could purchase now would be $350RT and with the last minute confirmations will be + $1500.:D

Apparently, UA thinks they've gotten all out of me that they're going to get. I was not targeted for this offer.

Could it be the I love Smisek sticker on your luggage?

Sorry for those who didn't get the invitation. I'd suggest
going to the site periodically and trying, trying again.
Though I did get one of the chintziest offers (looking
at what other people described on FT), at least I got one.

Here is my offer. No status on United this year and haven't flown United since August of last year. Sadly, a few days before this, I had a flight booked at $3100 and the offer says it must be booked after registration. Looks like I'm out of luck. That would have been an easy 27k miles.[IMG]

I got the email this morning. My offer is:

    $3,500 for 10,000 miles
$4,000 total for an additional 15,000 miles
$5,500 total for an additional 25,000 miles

I'm 1K with United, and will probably spend the $5,500 in the course of my normal travel. My wife, who dropped from Gold to Silver for 2016 and has already spent well over $1,000 with United this year, did not receive an invitation.

ETA: She just tried the link posted on FT and it worked. Her offer is:

    $2,500 for 10,000 miles
$3,000 total for an additional 15,000 miles
$4,500 total for an additional 25,000 miles

You might want to keep trying because there have now been a number of people who initially thought they were not targeted ending up getting an offer when they subsequently followed a link to the portal. My offer came by email but a number of blogs (e.g. Loyalty Lobby) have posted the link.

    $500 for 8,000 miles;
    $1000 for 12,000 miles, and
    $2000 for 20,000 miles.

Not bad, I guess, but nothing to salivate over.

I did register just in case something unexpected comes up.
