I recently received my Alaska Airlines credit card. I imagine that the miles and the companion ticket will be electronically applied to my account (hopefully soon), but how do I receive the two Board Room passes? Are those sent via physical mail?

And can they only be used in Alaska's Broad Rooms or will the partners accept them?

Yes, the miles and companion ticket will show up in your My Account. The companion ticket is actually a discount code. Board Room passes can only be used at Board Rooms.

Is there an expiration date on the Board Room passes?

My Board Room passes (came about two years ago) arrived in the mail, and were good for about a year.
You can only use them at AS Board Rooms, but you may be successful using them while flying partners.
I was successful using them when flying on VA (V Australia) out of LAX (arrived at LAX on an AS flight on a separate ticket, but was told it was the VA ticket that got me in).

I checked the remaining pass my wife acquired last April via the Visa. It expires April 30, 2012.

I believe the board room passes are 1 year from issuance.

The board room at LAX is actually pretty good IMO.

Sometime this Spring. Moving to terminal 6 when AS moves its operations there. I recall them warning us that there will be a time period where there will be no BR while they get the new BR ready.

The SkyClub over at T5 is an option if that is the case during the operational transition period.
