Microsoft’s search service Bing is today announcing detailed airport maps for 42 major airports across the U.S as the newest addition to our popular venue maps for Bing Maps, with plans to expand to other airports over time. The new airport maps give you everything you need to navigate your way through your travels. Airport maps include information on parking garages, ticket counter location, terminals and gates, baggage claims, currency exchange and more! You’ll also see a sortable directory of airlines, cafes and restaurants.

Looks like they took the idea that Gateguru was developing and ran with it. It's quite unusual for Microsoft to do that with a concept that a small startup is working on.

You'd think they'd just buy GateGuru in order to avoid screwing up the development.

That would be Google's approach. MS would rather reinvent the wheel, making it 'better' in the process :D
