Bike to Work Week

  1. Vancouver has long been a city where people ride their bikes around the Seawall and in recent years we are seeing more people skip driving and use their bike to get from a to b. Vancouver has been working hard on building separated bicycle lanes to make it more safe and a little easier for cyclists to get around the city. Essentially, cyclists and cars are in separate lanes that have a divide between them, for the most part.
This week (May 30 – June 5) is bike to work week, so take a look at Translink’s maps and the City of Vancouver’s useful site to plan your trip accordingly. If you’re visiting Vancouver, make sure to wear your helmet and play by the traffic rules, as if you were a car. It looks like sun is in the weather forecast for most of the week, so there’s no better time to take advantage of taking your bike out for a spin.
