    But AA employees at least have a union and a pension, and the PBGC to fall back on even if the pension is cut during the bankruptcy.

    Facebook can fire people whenever it wants, and at first it wasn't clear they would make any money. Taking stock options in lieu of cash is a risk.

    I understand that no one wants to see AA employees get the shaft, but I think Ben Stein is unfair to suggest that two very different employment models should result in more equal compensation.

    I think Ben Stein was mainly just pointing out how arbitrary strokes of luck can result in vastly different wealth outcomes.
