I will be in Beijing for 5 days. Can anyone recommend "don't miss" restaurants?

Obviously there are so many....but a favorite for us was Da Dong. Very modern, outrageously good and the Peking Duck is served beautifully! The food stalls, down the street from The Peninsula, were also a really fun experience!

Interesting to search through the crickets and scorpions to find chicken and beef [IMG]

We had a great lunch in the hutong area just off from the forbidden city. Good picture menu and the waiter would shake his head no if we pointed to anything he knew a westerner would not enjoy. Cold beers all round and maybe AUD$10 total for 3 people.

Da Dong Duck is definitely not to be missed. The best duck ever.
Also try Bai Family Mansion Imperial restaurant, great food and place. Amasing grounds.

Over time I have been to most of the recommended duck joints in Beijing. My favourite by a long way is Li Qun Roast Duck Restaurant

It's not the easiest to find, but well worth the effort

Having said that, some of the no-name places with duck for 1/4 of the price of the better known establishments, are also well worth popping into
