I've got a credit card from BoA with the annual fee coming up and was wondering if anyone knew whether or not BoA would refund the fee if the card is cancelled shortly after its posting? Thank you for your insight!

Not sure about BoA, but every credit card I have owned has refunded my fee upon cancellation, so far. And many will drop the fee if you ask nicely.

Yes, they will refund the annual fee if you cancel your card.

You may cancel the card in the period of when the fee posts, but prior to the statement closes. No worries there, or with a negative thing impacting your credit score, as the fee will ulimately not be due. You may cancel the card, within a certain time, after a statement is issued with the fee payable, and still cancel the card without liability. Know the rules, but it's not complicated.

Most importantly, and if you are unable to get a fee waived, there may be good vibes just to keep a card. It all just depends.

    :)
