I say "free", you do of course have to write a review.

BalticMiles members can earn 150 BalticMiles per hotel review on holidaycheck.com. Full details on Maltapoints, here.

(AirBaltic and the BalticMiles programme is on my radar as AirBaltic has announced it will be flying to Malta from May 2013.)

It's worth noting that Miles&More have now been added to the Holidaycheck.com points-collecting options - submit your hotel reviews through holidaycheck and you will earn 100 Miles&More points per review (subject to a maximum of ten reviews a month).

However, a couple of points to bear in mind here:

    - Per the above, you can earn 150 BalticMiles (or airberlin topbonus points) through holidaycheck. You can't earn both BalticMiles and M&M points

    - You can earn 100 M&M points by submitting your hotel reviews through tripadvisor.in (the offer definitely did not expire in October last year).

In light of this, it seems the best tactic is probably to earn BalticMiles on your holidaycheck reviews, and then submit a review of the same hotel via tripadvisor.in to earn 100 M&M points.

The only caveat to this is the tripadvisor.in smallprint states that the reviews must be of Indian hotels. While, to date, points have been posting fine for people who submit reviews of hotels anywhere through tripadvisor.in, if this changes, and assuming you have not just stayed at an Indian hotel, you need to choose between earning M&M points or BalticMiles through holidaycheck.

(Of course, this does not preclude you from earning 100 M&M points though tripadvisor.in for all those Indian hotels you've been staying at...)
