It seems like only yesterday (to oldsters like me) that Gulf Air was taking delivery of the "Five Star Tri Star" (I was on an inaugural flight) and GF was the flag carrier for Bahrain, Qatar,Oman and Abu Dhabi (they bought the BOAC shares held since almost the inception of GF). They could not compete once all those countries formed their own airlines and LCC's entered the fray, plus EK, among others. In the 1970's and early 19080's GF was really special.

The smart move, I fear, is to dissolve it. There is no coming back, IMO.
