Flying YYZ-DFW later this month on an award ticket in Y. Do baggage fees apply here?
Probably. If you booked it as an AAnytime Award prior to 8 April 2014 then you get 1 free bag. Otherwise you're going to pay.
Do you have any of the various Citi AA credit cards, or the US Air one from Barclays? All of those have a free bag feature.
None of those cards. Looks like I will need to call AA on this one.
If you bought the ticket in the past 8 months and have no status nor the CCs then you will pay.
The tickets are reward tickets. I wasn't sure if fees are waived here.
I understand that they are award tickets. I covered that aspect in my initial reply and included the link to AA's policy on the topic.
In nearly all cases the fees will not be waived. They will for two bags per ticket if it is an AAnytime Award booked prior to 8 April 2014.
