|| BA to drop Gatwick-Manchester route ||
It says something about this forum that no one seems to care.
No one? I care!
I might have cared more about this 20 years ago...but with the tedium of checkin, the BAA ripoff for parking and food adn services, and the general inconvenience of airports for a ~200 mile sector... just suck it up on VS train or pay the M6 toll.
Meanwhile back in the real world the astute members of the parish will have noted that BAA controls neither LGW nor MAN.
Good point... the history has changed since I was a frequent user of those airports.
But the concept still stands. Whether it's BAA or not who owns the LGW/MAN premises/licenses and franchises, making money on flying <200 mile sectors in such an expensive slot environment is pointless. The market has spoken.
Anyone who thinks different has what we might call... Mitt Romney style...
