I'm looking to book a QF flight LHR-SIN on the whale jet. BA sees availability, as does ExpertFlyer. But when I call AA (and I tried twice) they see nothing.

Anyone ever seen this? Any suggestions?

Are you trying to book premium class? QF award code for First Class for example is P vs Z. The agents could be looking for Z, when they should be looking for P availability.

Great idea, let me try this tomorrow. I feel like having spoken to 2 agents tonight I might be running out of karma.

Yes, it worked perfectly. Thanks so much, tfd!

There seems to be quite a bit of F (whoops, I meant "P") availability on QF32 (LHR-SIN), at least in January and February.

Good to hear! I'm surprised that QF has such availability in F on their A380... I might have to do a redemption on QF...

The route between SIN-SYD is viewed as the one of the easiest QF A380 redemption.

While I haven't flown this route, I conjecture that it's because there appears to be a fair amount of A380 competition. EK F in the A380 isn't that expensive, if I recall correctly.

I think that would only make sense if there was a fair amount of competition on the A380 specifically between SIN-SYD. I don't think there's enough people looking for a ride on ANY A380 in F to effect award inventory.

I have done SIN-SYD on the QF A380 and it was a great ride, btw!

Nice. Wish it was the same for LAX-SYD/MEL/BNE.

    And me :)
But I guess I gotta count my blessings, QF A380 F and SQ A380 J with fairly good availability to SIN does not have me complaining.
And TG F... It just takes a little longer to get to places like the US.

Although TG F availability on many routes has dried up substantially of late. BKK-NRT has gotten better oddly enough. And BKK-FCO/MAD is still a go-to in a pinch!

    Suites are great!
But with HND-LAX being much more available then NRT-LAX been having to switch, PITA.
