    Hi,
    I've bought a BOS>CDG, LHR>BOS>ORD>HNL double-open jaw (priced using 1/2 of two round-trip fares) booked in B class.

I am taking a two-month stopover in Boston on the return.

I called to request an upgrade for LHR>BOS>ORD>HNL, and was told I would have to redeem two seperate (15,000 for LHR>BOS, and 8,000 for BOS>ORD>HNL).

I said "gee i thought 15,000 would cover the whole LHR>BOS>ORD>HNL" and the agent said "It's valid for three segments in one direction," and I said "well, LHR>BOS>ORD>HNL seems pretty much always going west to me."

She wanted to collect 23,000 miles.

Any idea if agent is actually correct?

Also, what happens if I try to change the ticket and an award has already cleared. If there is no upgrade avialability, I assume I pay a redeposit fee for my miles. But if there is availability, is there a fee? The agent didn't seem to know.

Called a second agent, who took 15k miles, upgraded ORD>HNL,and put me on waitlist for LHR>BOS.

Still don't know what happens if I try to change the ticket.
