What are my chances of snagging 2 award tickets (economy) from Paris to London on July 27? As of now, there are none available, does BA usually open up award tickets closer to the travel date?

    Thanks!

Yes, but your chances do not look good, based on the current Availability figures:

How critical is it that you get from Paris to London? If it is, and you can do the trip from city centre to city centre (ie it does not have to be airport to airport), then you must look at Eurostar to see whether that's a viable option for your trip (a cash Eurostar ticket could be about the same total cost as the cash component alone of an award ticket for a BA flight).

Of course, if your plan is to travel city centre to city centre in any event, you'd be mad to be thinking about flying.

I have a connecting flight at LHR in the evening, so it would be idea if i can get a flight from Paris into LHR...of course my alternative is the Eurostar...

Thanks, I see seats available on flight 315 from CDG to LHR arriving at 2:15. That would be perfect if I can snag 2 seats...:). Are those seats usually not freed up for award redemption?

    By the way... Cool tool..:)

The point that KVS Tool is making is that these flights (with the possible exception of BA327) look like the airline expects them more or less to sell out by the time the flight departs, which is still about four weeks away. If for some reason, booking in the last couple of weeks is lower than expected, then some award seats might be made available in the last few days before the flight. But the flights could just as easily be even more in demand than expected, being taken all the way to the overbooking limit before being zeroed out.

If you have to get to London to get a flight, do you really want to wait until two or three days before the flight to see whether there will be award seats or whether it will by then simply be impossible to book any seat to London, thus leaving you stranded in Paris and unable to use your air ticket from LHR?

On the basis of the current availability there is almost no chance of redemption availability being freed up in the next week. The next shake down will be from 7 days prior to departure with availability then changing almost daily right up to departure. Great for using Avios to upgrade your cabin, not so good if you need to get on the plane in the first place.
