    Dear MilePoint Community,

As you begin planning your award travel for the new year, we wanted to inform you of upcoming changes to the Hyatt Gold Passport Award Chart. Effective February 7, 2013, 10 hotels will move to a lower category and seven hotels will move to a higher category. Through February 6, 2013, all award bookings can be made following the current Award Chart.

Rest assured, we will continue to make free night redemption as easy as possible with no blackout dates. If we have a standard room available at any Hyatt hotel on any day of the year, you're more than welcome to reserve it with your Hyatt Gold Passport points.

For a full list of hotels impacted and for answers to frequently asked questions about these Award Chart changes, please visit Hyatt.com.

    Safe travels,

    Hyatt Gold Passport Customer Service

    Right on the money...

And sure enough 48 Lex goes from 4 to 5. And seeing the GH Tokyo get even more expensive point-wise by going from 5 to 6 is not fun either.
Interestingly enough, Aviara goes from 5 to 4... I wonder what that's all about.

Interesting that the HP Las Vegas goes down also...might we be realizing that an off Strip property that regularly charges $100+ a night is absurd when good on strip rooms can regularly be gotten for about $30?

Indeed. Hyatt lost six nights (2 rooms, 3 nights) to Hilton this summer when I stayed at the Doubletree Club instead of the Hyatt Place due to a significantly better rate (I didn't want/need a strip hotel since that wasn't our destination). And if I recall correctly, the promo at the time was better, too -- triple points.

The Hyatt Regency Albuquerque as a Cat 1 is now a steal... but there have been many good hotel values in Albuquerque lately.
