Please advice what is limitation in stopover for Award booking ?

    as per United.com
    • A stopover is permitted on roundtrip award travel only. One stopover is permitted, unless otherwise noted. Additional mileage may be required for Saver Awards within the continental U.S., Alaska and Canada. For travel booked on or after February 1, 2014, a stopover is permitted only on certain roundtrip itineraries. Additional mileage may be required.
I am planning to book for June- August 2015 Award booking.

    Thank you,

Is the trip within the US/Canada?

I am thinking for following saver award in economy during June-August 2015:
    1. LAX - CDG //Open Jaw// LHR - LAX (Stop) HNL
    or
    2. LAX -LHR //Open Jaw// CDG-LAX (Stop) HNL

    Thanks,

Option 2 would probably be a little cheaper, taxwise.

They are no longer permitted for trips wholly within the Lower 48+Canada+Alaska; that's what the new text on the site refers to. Otherwise the rules remain as they were. Some agents balk at stopovers in the origin city, others have no problem booking such. It is not clear if there is a formal policy on that or not.

Not too surprising that the website errors on that. Call it in and they might be able to book it or they might balk at stopover at point of origin.

United rep told me that stop over not allowed!

Is there any better site to check award seats availability besides United. Com?

    Thanks

ANA and Aeroplan also offer access to *A award inventory with slightly different pools of what airlines and cabins are shown online.
