|| Avios to increase Reward Flight Saver redemption rates ||
Increase is a popular word these days.
Just to be clear, the number of Avios required for a Reward Flight Saver redemption is not changing, it's only the fixed fee that is increasing.
Once they do this MAYBE BA will start releasing award seats again. The last award seats they have released on the Paris to LHR route is July 18. Over a month and a half without a single award seat being released.
Because the fixed fee must be paid on each redemption, it is what it is, an increase.
The title of the thread makes it seem like the amount of Avios you need for a redemption is increasing. It isn't.
While the amount of Avios does not increase, the associated fee will go up, and because this fee will have to be paid and this makes the grand total higher in the end.
The title is a bit off, but overall, because the associated fees go up for redemption, even when the Avios amount required doesn't go up.
The title was ambiguous, so I think that Euan was quite right to clarify this.
