For me, the word "Aviator" conjures up images of dapper gents in leather jackets and leather helmets, women pilots with sharp, clear eyes dressed high boots, tight pants, the same leather jackets and helmets, and flowing scarves. It conjures up an earlier time, when flying was a glamorous adventure. Am I the only one who has a problem with attaching the word "aviator" to anyone born after 1935? (and perhaps very few born after 1928?).

I just can't connect the word with CR7 or A380 pilots.

I always thought it was strange when TWA changed the name of their FF program from Ambassadors (and Ambassador Club lounges) to Aviators. After all, I planned to ride the plane, not fly it or even navigate!
