    Is there an auto censoring function turned on? I tried to type "this will p-i-s-s off customers" (without the -'s) and it automatically turned into "this will **** off customers". Is that a bit too strict?

    There is. I replied to a post containing the word "its" in the beginning, typed in an extra "it" at the start and it ended up posting as "I****"

    A workaround is to mark a letter in the middle of the censored word and assign a black color to that single letter:

    TSA ****ers -> TSA helpers

    I'm against a strict auto-censor, but then, words like p i s s don't bother me. Uh, but then, neither do the other 6 words you can't say on television. ;) so, I'm basically against any auto censor, strict or not...though I certainly agree this one seems overly strict.
