Over at united.com/auctions there is a MP points auction for several packages which include a tour of the United flight kitchens in Houston, loading food on an international flight, and dinner at the 5-Star Reef restaurant run by United's executive chef. I believe all the activities are on May 19 and the auctions close at noon Central time on Friday May 11. The bids currently are very reasonable.

One package includes RT air to IAH, 2 nights hotel, car, for 2 people. Right now the bid is only 56000 miles

There are also two packages for the tour/dinner only, right now at 10000 miles:

My understanding is there will be an opportunity to give direct feedback on the quality of inflight food - probably mainly applicable to C & F class.

I got to tour Chelsea at IAH during the Continental DO IV - really enjoyed it and highly recommend. Wish I could say the same for Reef - not a fan....

Likewise, I haven't dined at the Reef but I'd be up for the Flight Sim as that's always been a fun one.

I've toured the plane catering facilities at SIN but passed on LH at MUC. It's intereting to see once, but it's really a huge industrial kitchen with some additional features (trays and equipment from different carriers and special meals) and safeguards.

I was tracking those packages for a while...if only I could go to Houston that weekend! Sounds like a fantastic deal.

Does anyone know what the previous Flight Sim deal went for?
