Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport plans to begin offering free Wi-Fi service next year through a two-step process.

Starting Thursday, the airport will lower its daily rate to $4.95. The fees will be eliminated by next fall.
“This initiative builds upon our commitment to improving the overall airport experience,” Aviation General Manager Louis Miller said in a prepared statement. “Free Wi-Fi will make it easier for … passengers to conduct their professional and personal business during their time at the airport.”

Usually it is existing contracts, as well as getting the equipment in place to handle the increased demand for when it becomes free

Even the infrastructure in place for the paid wifi sucks big time!
