    Hi!

I was just rebooking my *A F Award with US Airways (because of the situation in Japan, I changed from TYO to TPE), and wanted to try Asiana F from FRA to ICN, but when I looked at the booking on 'manage my booking' at LH's site, it said booking class "Economy (O)", and on checkmytrip.com it just said Economy.

I called up US Airways and they said it was First class. Did not know which channel to belive in, so I changed to LH's flight that leaves 30 min earlier than the OZ-flight in booking class "First (O)".

The question here then is: Which cabin is booking class "O" on Asiana? Economy or First?

    Thanks! :)

First... I have a *A F award on OZ as well and I was worried also. Called Asiana and they confirmed the booking is in First.

    Star Alliance award booking classes:
    O - First
    I - Business
    X - Economy

    You're fine :)

I have a similar scenario coming up. UA award and the first flight, on AC, is 'economy (I)'. When i called AC for a seat I acted as if it were business (which it is) and there didn't seem to be any confusion on their part.

O is definitely, as stated above, FC. Enjoy the flight, I've loved my OZ F experiences.

Are you looking at the UA website? It'll often show the fare class of the overall award and not the specific segment when you look at 'my itineraries'. But coach award inventory definitely books into X and Air Canada will know you are booked in X.

This is an F award with the initial seg from NYC-YUL in C, but, as i said, the itin shows 'economy (I)'. And since AC has confirmed it's 'I' by letting me choose a seat, I'm not gonna bother with bringing it to UA's attention.

Overall there are 3 segments in C and 2 in F. Although the other two C segments show properly.

Which is not a surprise in the least. Although, in dozens of awards in the last couple of years i don't remember having seen this before.

While I've booked dozens of awards with UA I wouldn't even pretend to see the amount of itins you must.
