Can we do a one-way NAmerica-Asia award across the Atlantic via Europe with MP (as is possible with AE)? I have found award space on TK in C from YYZ-IST and IST-PVG on the dates I want but the online booking engine won't complete the booking by selecting the two segments in a multi-stop journey, nor can I get this to show on a search between the two cities since I only get transPac flights.

From what I've read & what people say; yes you can but not as a RT. You have to book 2 one way thus giving up your stopover.

Yes, you can go TATL for awards to Asia. You can also go TPAC. If multi-city online doesn't work just call in.

The catch is that you cannot officially book TATL and TPAC on the same award as a round trip. The website will allow it in some cases but not always. Agents are unlikely to allow it. If it prices out OK then you can fly it no problem. If it doesn't then you're back to trying to find inventory over the same ocean both ways.

You shouldn't have trouble booking this as a one-way or a roundtrip (as long as on the roundtrip you return via the Atlantic). I'd check the ANA tool to make sure that what you're seeing is really there and not ghost availability, then call in and have the phone agent book it.

Thanks for the clarification. Both segments I want show up separately on the MP/UA booking engine, so should be available on a through trip basis. Will call in to book/ticket.

Any idea what the rule is for 'some cases'? I was able to book IAH-FRA-PEK-LAX-IAH as a round trip.

Booked LGA-ORD-ICN-BKK-BRU-JFK stopping in BKK. So TPAC and TATL is possible. If the computer prices it, agents book it.
