Hadnt yet changed in the inventory system but no award availability in J.

A380 award availability to OZ is plentiful so I'm still good. :)

Hmm.. any ideas which gates at Frankfurt they will use for this? Boarding for the SQ flights currently at FRA is hardly what I would call a relaxing experience.

Probably a good reason to fly LH F, very relaxing boarding experience ;)

Yes LH F is great for boarding experience. Now that they (LH) have A380 also to SIN even better. I do like the SQ service however, and capacity to/from SIN is an issue particularly in business class so this is a nice option to have.

Well didn't see this one coming! I know there were rumors flying around, but I always thought that if SQ brought the A380 to FRA, it would do away with the JFK tag on. The reason being:

    - Pretty dismal loads on the FRA-JFK-FRA legs on both Y and the Premium cabins, every time I took this flight
    - The A380 would sit idle all day on the tarmac at JFK

    Well I stand corrected.

The TPE tag was kind of scary.. Thank God SQ made the shift like so.. Wonder how SQ will change their boarding process.. Guess I just have to check it on my own next year..

I've seen pretty full J/C cabins on FRA-JFK and vv, although not as packed (IME, every seat filled in J/C) as FRA-SIN and vv on the 747.

    +1 :)

I noticed with the Northern Winter schedule SQ25 would depart earlier from JFK thus allowing for longer turn around time in FRA. I wished they would have started doing that sooner. When I was a regular on this route, it was damn near impossible to turn around the 744 in 70-minute, so more often than not, it was always very rushed to catch SQ152 when I arrived in SIN.

It'll probably take more than 3 hours of layover in FRA to load and unload.. I'm rather worried at the lounge aspect of things since I take it they will have to change terminals or at the very least gates..

Three hours? Goodness I hope not. SQ is turning A380s now far faster than 3 hours. And why the change of terminals and gates? It will be interesting to see what gates they use however as the B gates they are using now would be quite difficult to load through.

If only SQ F on the A380 suites were more readily available...

Japanese Layover of 11/12 is around 3 hours+.. And this flight is longer than 11/12...

Well, there's hope.. And there's a sure lose bet.. Not sure where SQ's Execs are placing their heads now..

True. I liked it when they used to always park in Gates B42-B48, for me it was always straight up the stairs in the center of the rotunda to the LH Business lounge. Not the best lounge I know, but at least it's a short walk.

I thought the Japanese layover time had more to do with the times SQ wanted flights and the overall congestion of NRT than anything else. Anyway- no idea about the head of SQs execs (an excellent point by the way!), but Airbus claims a 90 minute turn is possible, and even 80 minutes with 3 airbridges. Someone knowledgeable will chime in soon with some real turn times I am sure- however if they schedule it for 70 minutes it will be quite the challenge.

Maybe that's true.. However, the current 744 turnaround is about 1 hour, and add another 1 hour+ of long lines at the taxiway to the runway.. On the verge of the 388 a couple of months ago, the arrival time in SIN became 03:05 from 01:05 methinks..

I have to admit, better than 0105 which often times are still waay to long to connect to early morning departure.. But then again, the extra 2 hours just seems unnecessary..

Good point. All the middle of night arrivals however are a bit tough. An extra 2 hours- did they change departure time as well?

Departure time is unchanged.. Just an extra 2 hour layover in NRT..

Is FRA Terminal B A380 ready? I thought the A380 gates in FRA are in Terminal C.
