TSA managers: Security lax at Newark airport

    Associated Press
NEWARK, N.J. — Transportation Security Administration managers at Newark Liberty International Airport say security has "slowly diminished" over the years.

That was one of the findings in a performance analysis obtained by The Star-Ledger of Newark that was circulated during meetings led by TSA Area Director Jim Blair on Thursday.

"Hi, we're the TSA, and we're masking justification for installing more pornoscanners at EWR in a tacit admission of our own incompetence. Remember, your safety is our priority."

The FSD isn't getting fired, they aren't ditching the incompetent screeners they're hired ... exactly what are they admitting to? Oh yeah, that they need more money to sit on their asses in a training class instead of hiring FEWER, competent people with less technology trying to solve for something that can't be solved for.

    Say what? Security?
    At EWR? Really?
    Where?
    Nah;)
FWIW, I was quoted in the Wall Street Journal just days after 9/11.. briefly stated that it was 'a joke' :(
I wish I could say something good.. but, sadly, I can't..
So I'll just shut up now! Hope it gets bettr.. & fast! :)

My thoughts exactly. Security is one of the reasons I don't fly out of Newark! On top of that they have a huge security fee. How is this money being distributed? (side eye)

Assuming you mean the "9/11 fee," that tax is the same, regardless of which U.S. Airport you fly in and out of. IIRC, it's $2.50 per segment, maximum of $10 per ticket.

To the OP's point, regardless of the airport, I'm not surprised that some of the TSA's own say they suck. The hard work is done LONG before any bad guy gets a chance to get to the airport by more relevant government agencies.

EWR is all about harassment, not security.

Yes, how is that money being allocated?

I agree the TSA is not exactly innovative or groundbreaking from this airport users perspective.

    TSA sucks at EWR?

And in other news, water is wet...
