    Here's the quote I like:

It should be a fun weekend, I'm flying this weekend though just shorthaul (BOS-EWR RT this weekend)... it seems like it should certainly be interesting.

Seriously? What a ridiculous thing to say for a high ranking UA executive.

So my question is, I have a flight early Saturday EDT. Should I check-in tomorrow (using the "old" checkin computer) or wait until I get to the airport.

Generally, I'm thinking to do it prior, but wondering the "what-ifs" if I check in tomorrow and Saturday arrives and I find out I'm really not "checked-in" with the new computer.

    Lots of fun.

thought I might have dodged a bullet by flying out tomorrow on my ORD-TPE trip. Then I just realized NRT-TPE portion will happen on 3/3...

I'm tempted to check 3 bags each do my part to stress the system. ;)

I agree completely. Perhaps he meant "off the record" when he said "unofficially."

Off the record, on the record... doesn't matter. It either means that United is ignoring/keeping quiet about significant problems or this guy is willing to hurt United's image.

I'm having Y2K flashbacks with all the stories about the integration.

But didn't the head of the FAA say he would fly (or did fly) during Y2K?

Here we have some unnamed UA exec saying he wouldn't want to be flying.

Not a very executive thing to say, IMHO. I'm on a DFW-IAH today, IAH-DFW tomorrow and a DFW-IAD first thing Monday morning. I've already printed out itineraries and am tracking AA flight availability on those routes just in case things go tits-up.

For sure. I was just thinking of the amount of uncertainty and angst it's creating.

Count me among the "angsted." I'm sitting in Seattle for what should be a relaxing weekend. Now I'm a little more than concerned about my Sunday Red-Eye to EWR, Monday EWR-MCO and Tuesday MCO-SJO via IAH. The date of the switch had not been announced when all of these were booked.
