Edenia Punta Soberana is the hotel we stayed at... it's new, affordable, modern. It has great views and great customer service. The one negative is that it's not walking distance to the 4x4 block downtown, but there are frequent shuttles that go back and forth (and they'll usually just take you in the shuttle whenever you want to go.) I'd definitely recommend it.

As far as glaciers, we went with the Big Ice Trek. 'Twas amazing.

We're headed to Patagonia next week and staying at Eolo in Calafate.
We're Big Ice trekking on the glacier as well.

Will report back after our trip!

Enjoy Big Ice--it's awesome. And there's a special treat at the end... [IMG]
