I have used it a few times. If find it no better nor worse than the old PM feature on FT.

    Still a good tool....

Yep, just a couple of times for me. It's fine, does what it says on the box... [IMG]

How many people can you include?

The number of people you can include increases with your status level. I like the conversation more than the old PM; I like seeing the threaded discussion, and the ability to add people.

I've used the add people feature, but I'm a little unsure about it; in a touchy or private discussion some participants might not realize that others have been added, since I don't think it notifies the earlier participants. (however, the list of participants is very clear and large on the right side, hard to miss). Someone could say something, then someone else could get added later...

There is some protection in the fact that the OP has to set it to allow adding participants. Right now there are just two choices- don't allow anyone to be added, or any participant can invite anyone to join. Maybe a third choice would be good- wherein only the OP can invite others to join.

I've found i like it much better primarily because of the mouseover on the InBox icon. i never have to leave the page on a click through to see my messages. As well, i realized that is is very real time like and answering a few conversations turned to a conversation much like instant messaging. Just my experiences.

I think the Conversation feature needs to be easier to access. So I got an email last night and read the message. I put off replying until this morning.

Yes, I was able to click the link from the email. But there was no easy way to get to the feature from the site. It's not in the dropdown in the upper right when you mouse over your UserID.

After a few clicks, I realized I had to go to Personal Details and then Conversations. Anyway to simplify this?

You can also click/hover over the inbox button on the top navigation menu.

I've used it a couple of times. I like that all of the messages are shown on one page.

It's nothing more than another name for a PM for me. I never really get into trading many private messages anywhere so while I really like the conversation idea it likely won't ever mean much to me personally.

I like convo much better than PM on FT.
I also like there are 3 places to "chat" - convo, through "Who's Online" at lower right, and chat at lower left.

I think if I had faster connection here in DEL it would be better - but I do like the "conversation" aspect.

Yes, have used it. A bit easier to use than FT -- screen more readable etc. But then, all of MP is that.

I like the conversation much better than PM. What happens when.if your Inbox gets full? I don't see any way to delete conversations. Seems like the OP at least ought to be able to do that.

Above a conversation (when you are in it) in the top right area you will see a Leave Conversation link ... click on that and you get two options -- to not allow the conversation to be restarted if someone sends you another message, or to ignore any further communication. In both cases the conversation will disappear from your list.

Thank you ACMM. Any idea what happens on the other end? Does it disappear from the participant's list of conversations or remain? If they respond again do they get some message saying they've been cut off?

I would think it does not disappear on the other end. But to be honest I do not know. Send me a conversation and we can try it out - but I am just heading to the airport so it will be a while before I reply if you choose to do so :)

One nice thing is I do not see a meter showing my usuage remaining. I wonder if there is a limit to 'open conversations'

There is a limit to the number of people you can invite to a conversation which varies with your status level. But I don't know what that number is.

I tried the Conversation last night and liked it very much.

It saves having to copy and paste/remove content and keeps the replies in a nice order... sort of like email on Gmail.
