Are UA drink chits accepted on Contineltal-operated flights yet? I found a single report on FT that they are accepted, and multiple reports that they are not accepted.

I've got some long EWR-IAH-HNL flights coming up ;-), and some free drinks could really ease the pain if the upgrade doesn't clear.

Yes, they work on both carriers.

Yes. Unless the FAs is misinformed, they are supposed to work on either carrier. :)

I would like to see them usable for BoB! I am given UDU about 99% of the time, so no need for drink chits.

When my UG was lost the other day, I tried to
use a couple on a CO flight; after running them
through the reader several times, the FAs
reported failure. I gave back the bottles.
Some time later, the bottles were returned to
me, the purser saying that they should have
been able to recognize the coupons but were
unable to do so, so she comped me the booze.

Feel like throwing a few my way? ;)

Gotta love the irony in giving drink chits only to those most likely to get upgraded and, thus, not need them. :)

I thought I read a few weeks ago that the coupons were accepted in flight. I tried using UA coupons on a CO flight today. FA pushed backed, asked to speak with purser and was told she was the purser. She then comped the drinks.

I will try to get confirmation of this when I return to work on Friday.

Quite different for those of us who fly mostly international. Only 6 SWUs (and then they don't always clear) and only very rare op-ups result in being in E+most of the time. So drink chits are very useful - they deaden the pain:D

I used my UA coupons on CO last weekend. The FA said that she'd never seen them before. Went off with the coupon.. perhaps to consult the lead FA, came back, and gave me my drink.

It's good to hear that drink chits are now reciprocal between UA and CO, even it it takes a bit of FA "conferencing" to hand out the drinks. I recall trying to use a UA drink chit on CO back in November, and I was denied. The FA said "You know, we really should accept them, because we accepted NW drink chits back in the day, but we don't take them."

I've got a ton of old CO chits that don't have any expiration on 'em, hope that those will be good into perpetuity even once the CO brand goes away..
