I know US took delivery of 12 A321's at the end of 2011 and another 12 are coming early this year to replace the old 733's and 734's. I heard the 733's are going first. Anyone know if they have been retired? Just curious.

As far as I know, all west 733s are gone, and there are about 7 east 733s left in service, but being steadily withdrawn. The 734s are staying until 2014 as far as I have been told.

This is based on month old information, so anything could have changed but it was a very reliable source...so take it at face value.

I think, from all reports in the past that with each new A321 US takes delivery of in the coming months, they will be retiring a 733. This means that those last 7 will be gone very shortly.

I think you're on the right track Sean, but I think the timetable for all 733's to be gone is Oct-Dec.

Yeah, Flying classy had to be a waaaaaayyyss back. Definitely before I was born as well. What was the last classy flight? 1960? Before de-regulation, yes?
