Sorry for the newb question--I couldn't seem to find information about this when I searched. Are award stays eligible for Gold benefits such as early checkin/late checkout and potential room upgrade?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure officially. Elite members have received benefits on award stays. If I remember correctly members have been denied an upgrade when occupancy levels are high at a particular property. This is at the hotels discretion which is noted in the T&C’s of the program.

Yes you receive the same benefits on award stays as you do on cash stays.Although upgrades are always subject to availability anyway no matter how you pay.
In my experience upgrades are usually more forthcoming when on award stays.

Yes, you should also get a welcome gift and free breakfast (if its a Radisson property).

Free breakfast isn't a benefit for Gold members, though.

I know it's only anecdotal, but the nicest room I've ever stayed in was a gorgeous suite in the Radisson Blu Edwardian Leicester Square. It had to be at least 400 sq ft with the most gorgeous view toward Trafalgar/Parliament/the London Eye. And it was an award night that I redeemed after the big night giveaway. I couldn't even venture to guess how much that hotel room would have cost if I paid for it.
