Anyone know what "Meal: 1" means?

I've got a somewhat fubar'd itinerary now on United.com. Was RPU waitlisted for a SEA-DEN leg later this year. Today they did an equipment swap *and* my upgrade cleared. Instead of an A320 it's now a 739 - woo hoo!

When I logged into my reservation and accepted the change (it's considered an itin change because of the equipment swap) the SEA-DEN leg now says "Meal: 1". And the coach segment for SEA-DEN still appears as well. I'll call and get it all sorted out. This might belong in the United.com bug tracking thread somewhere. I imagine it's supposed to say 'lunch'.

Sometimes happens with the schedule changes. It should clear up.

Maybe they're only going to load 1 meal and make the 16 people in FC fight for it?

Congrats on the equip swap! That one is always a good day!

Except I know you remember the 739 has 20 FC seats, not 16 :) And I'm going to sit in 1A so I get the airplane food. Winner!

I've seen this display bug persist until date of travel. It seems to be purely cosmetic.

I have had this show up also, could it mean that there will be only 1 meal service?

Please remember that some of the 737-900's are also the "new" ones with the temp seats and no IFE at all.
(I used "new" since some of these sorry birds have been winging their way through the air for the past 2 years ).

The meal flag in the database is a number. That gets translated to some text for the various display systems (reservations, etc.) but at its core it is just a number in a data field. And what you're seeing is that number without the translation to make it pretty.
