Any way to earn miles in an alliance from EZE to REL?

I am thinking of visiting Peninsula Valdez when I'm in BsAs this summer. Is there any airline I can fly that will earn miles in one of the alliances? At this time I'm really only seeing Aerolineas Argentina, which to my knowledge isn't earning any alliance miles at this time. I guess it's going to join Skyteam, but I don't think that will help this summer.

No, they only share miles with Spanair, AFAIK. They do have some codeshares beginning, if rumor is correct, so you might try booking via DL, say, just in case it will be possible when you plan to fly. That is a long shot, probably.

And there aren't any other airlines flying that route, correct? I tried LAN, but it doesn't look like it.

Seems to be true. I also can find no other, but I am not an expert in that area.

I thought I might just post the flight list from ExpertFlyer. Note that the aircraft are all nice ones for a short hop. The Austral (AU) ones are Embraer 190 and the AR ones are 737-700. I made teh itinerary from EZE, so note too that several flights actually depart from AEP (Jorge Newberry) rather than EZE.

I had to take a while to figure out this information, but I found out that Austral is a sister company of Aerolineas Argentina. So I guess again they are pretty much the only ones flying that route. I tried searching around a bit and couldn't find anyone else flying it.

I guess I could always skip Peninsula Valdez and fly LAN to El Calafate to see the glacier. I have to decide what is my priority, whales or glaciers? I will be whale watching in Boston this summer so maybe the glacier is better and then I would earn AA miles. Now is that crazy to think of changing my destination partly to earn miles? I think that is close to crossing the line . . .
