Some material from last fall says that TACA and Avianca would have joined in April 2012.

    It's no longer April.

I ask because I'm looking for ways to get to MDE and CTG faster.

I agree. STAR is probably still negotiating with TAM/LAN to keep them in STAR and an early TACA/Avianca
entrance would not help on the negotiation.

Now that the LATAM merger will be official sometime in mid-May we can look for a decision soon afterwards.

They still have to look over their books to see which alliance holds the most promise.

Then we can start thinking about TACA/AVIANCA.

Wonder how this will affect my award availability and miles needed on Taca/Avianca, as they tended to have some good deals and availability...

Anyone have a link to Avianca's *A partner award chart or happen to know the mileage amounts needed? Their miles seem inexpensive.

Patience. It has only been one day. The chart should be out soon, and I'm sure the major blogs will yap all about it.

I working on building up a reference collection but you can price individual awards, assuming there is inventory, if you sign up for an account and go here.

Intra-Colombia was 9K in Y and EWR-SIN was 40/60K in Y/C. Just a couple data points to start with.

For those that haven't seen it already, here's the chart: https://www.lifemiles.com/eng/inc/starredawards.aspx

Looks like standard redemption values across the board. The 40% miles, 60% cash option (at a good CPM) combined with their 100% buy miles promos seem like a really good value for C/F.
